After much speculation, details have emerged about the location for the World Premiere of ‘Skyfall’.

The World Premiere of the 23rd James Bond film will take place at the Royal Albert Hall, in the Kensington area of central London, on the evening of Tuesday 23rd October, 2012.

The movie will then go on general release in the UK three days later, on Friday 26th October. It has also been confirmed by the Royal household that Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will be special guests at the Premiere.

There had been rumours earlier this year that the film-makers were seriously exploring the possibility of using the ‘O2’ arena in East London. The traditional location of the Odeon, Leicester Square, had also been considered again at one stage.

The prestigious Royal Albert Hall, which has been the location for numerous music concerts and events over the years, was previously used as a Bond film premiere location for ‘Die Another Day’ in 2002, which was attended by Her Majesty the Queen.

The ‘Die Another Day’ Premiere on November 18th, 2002, which was Pierce Brosnan’s fourth James Bond film, also saw former 007 actors George Lazenby, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton in attendance, together with 3,000 guests.
