Craig and puppies team with omaze

Is 007 trying to outwit Ernst Stavro Blofeld and his white cat? Current James Bond star Daniel Craig recently teamed up with the online giving platform ‘Omaze’ to create a very special promo film for their new partnership. And this involved Craig appearing with a dedicated ‘support team’ of white golden retriever puppies!

The 49-year old star also gave details in the promotional advert of a very special prize that is on offer to those people who make a donation to his favourite charity: the chance to hang out with Daniel for a day at a top secret location, and also to design a customised Aston Martin (what else?!). Moreover, the lucky winner will get to keep the Aston Martin.

In order to enter the special contest, fans have to make a donation to the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), a campaign that deals with clearance of landmines and other lethal explosives left after conflicts in various parts of the globe, and also helps victims (especially children) who have lost limbs due to accidently standing on mines. UNMAS works in 18 countries across the world. It is a cause that is very close to Craig’s heart, and he has been involved with charity work for the Service for a number of years.

In the promo film, he is seen explaining the importance of the charity work by using the puppies to help viewers get a sense of the actual value of the dedicated effort that is carried out by UNMAS employees on the ground. He also praised the ‘incredible work’ of the United Nations Mine Action Service, for which he is a UN Global Advocate. The Aston Martin on offer as a prize is a 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT Roadster, while the winner has been promised that they will be able to talk to Daniel about anything they wish during their day with him.

Return Another Day

Meanwhile, in other Craig filming news, he has recently been very busy working on a new movie, Kings, which is about the infamous LA riots that occurred over six days at one point in the early 1990s. His co-star in the movie is none other than Halle Berry, the former Bond woman who played ‘Jinx’ in Pierce Brosnan’s final outing as James Bond, Die Another Day (2002).

And for those who are keen to see Craig back in action on the big screen as soon as possible, it has been announced that his new comedy heist movie, Logan Lucky, will open at the box office in the USA on August 18th this year, with release in other markets soon after.

Did You Know?

The former seven-times James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, who remains passionate about the need to help children across the world – especially with their educational opportunities – has also conducted many years of charity work for the UN, working as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
