With just weeks to go before Bond movie no. 25 goes before the cameras at Pinewood Studios, interesting reports have appeared in the British and U.S. media indicating that 007 actor Daniel Craig is back on the strict training regime that he has followed prior to his previous four Bond outings.

According to reports, when Daniel dropped into Patsy’s, the famous New York Italian restaurant, to attend a dinner celebrating the new film Green Book, he had to leave before the guests were served their pasta due to his current strict low-carb diet.

Starting with the build-up to his first outing as 007 in Casino Royale, and with each new adventure as Fleming’s secret agent, Craig has had to follow a tough training regime, both during pre-production and also while filming. This has involved daily gym training sessions combined with a special eating regime, which the actor regards as essential given his very ‘physical’ interpretation of the role of James Bond and the gruelling shooting schedule that is associated with each new production.

As many Bond fans know, Craig has also been very keen to involve himself with the stunt-work on each movie, and has undertaken many stunts himself, as he feels this adds to the tough ‘back-to-basics’ approach he has followed for his interpretation of the character. This highly-disciplined philosophy has entailed much rehearsal time and close attention to detail to minimise risk. And all this, of course, can be very physically demanding and often gruelling, so peak fitness is essential to the actor, who was born in 1968.

Meanwhile, in other possible Bond 25 news, there are interesting indications that the new movie, directed by Cary Fukunaga, has been granted some funding aid by the Norwegian government, in order to encourage EON to make use of the country for some location filming.
