Skyfall_225You know the name, and you know the number. And soon you will know the title. MGM and EON Productions announced today (2nd December) that the official title for the 24th James Bond film will be announced via live stream from the famous 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios on Thursday, 4th December, 2014, at 11.00am, GMT.

MGM and SONY will deliver a live announcement of the title and will also stage a special photo call with key members of the cast. It has also been confirmed that principal photography on the new 007 movie, to be directed once again by Sam Mendes, will commence on Monday 8th December, 2014.

The first official media event for the new Bond movie marks a return, in a sense, to past practice, when press calls were often held for the James Bond movies at Pinewood, which is often seen as the ‘traditional’ home of the James Bond movie franchise in the UK.

David Black, chairman of the JBIFC, said: ‘This is the news we have all been waiting for. There has already been a lot of speculation about the plot and locations of the new movie, and everybody is getting really excited about what might be in store’.

The previous entry in the franchise, Skyfall, broke box office records both in the UK and across the world, and it is thought the new movie will build upon some of the character themes developed in the 23rd 007 adventure. It will be actor Daniel Craig’s fourth adventure as Ian Fleming’s famous secret agent.
