Connery thinks Craig will make a terrific Bond

Ever since British actor Daniel Craig was chosen to play the suave superspy James Bond in the upcoming Bond flick, there has been constant speculation about whether the actor would be able to do justice to the role. Now, ex-Bond Sir Sean Connery has given his wholehearted support to the actor.

Sir Connery, who played Bond in six movies between 1962 and 1971, gave his approval to Craig, and said that the actor would bring something different to the character."(He's a) terrific choice... a completely new departure," the BBC quoted him, as saying. The veteran actor also revealed that one of the reasons he had decided to quit acting as the spy, was because he thought there was more special effects in the films, than a good role.

"One of the reasons I stopped doing it was because I got really fed up with the space stuff and special effects. I just found it getting more and more influential in the movies."
