EON Confirm Bond 23 Scriptwriting Team

An official press release from EON Productions has confirmed the names of the 3-man creative team who will pen the screenplay for Bond 23, Daniel Craig’s third adventure as 007.

The press release, entitled ‘Morgan, Purvis and Wade to work on Bond, James Bond’, and issued from Los Angeles on 12 th June, reveals that Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Peter Morgan will put together the next story in the highly successful franchise.

Purvis and Wade, of course, have become near-veterans of the Bond series, having started with ‘The World Is Not Enough’ in 1999. They also helped engineer the dramatic but highly successful change from Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig in the role of MI6’s most famous spy.

Oscar-nominated Peter Morgan is the screenwriter who captured world attention with his screenplay for ‘The Queen’ (with Helen Mirren), which explored the trials and tribulations of the British Royal family in relation to the death of Lady Diana and the response of Tony Blair. Morgan’s credits also include ‘The Last King of Scotland’, a tense and fascinating film about the love/hate encounter between a westerner and the controversial Uganda dictator Idi Amin in the 1970s, and ‘Frost/Nixon’, the acclaimed account of a famous interview between British TV star David Frost and Richard ‘Tricky Dicky’ Nixon, the American President who was behind the Watergate scandal.

EON’s press release stated that “Peter, Neal and Robert are extraordinarily talented” and that Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson  are “looking forward to working with the three of them”.
