Ian Fleming Memorial For Scotland
The James Bond International Fan Club is collecting names for a petition to the Scottish Parliament to call for a memorial to Ian Fleming in Scotland.
This should stand in recognition of Ian and his family's strong and lasting links to Scotland.
Ian Fleming created James Bond and had close connections with Scotland which is also the home of the first Bond, Sir Sean Connery.
There is currently a monument to Ian's brother, Peter Fleming, the travel writer , on the Fleming family's 80,000 acre Black Mount Estate in Argyll.
"This could be one place where a memorial could be sited" said club chairman, David Black, who also originally came from Scotland. "The Fleming link would be good for tourism in Scotland and is long overdue. The only memorial to Ian Fleming I know of is modest one at Ian's grave in Sevenhampton, near Swindon."
The Fleming family also have ties to Dundee and Edinburgh which could offer other possible locations.
