At last: a New Year and a new Bond film. Number 25 in the EON series commences production very soon. We have been itching to write that for ages! What do we know about the new 007 movie so far? As Bond aficionados around the globe eagerly await principal photography to begin at Pinewood Studios in England, the JBIFC takes this opportunity to provide (00)seven bite-sized bullet-points on Daniel Craig’s fifth 007 adventure.

007 and Counting…

001: Production is scheduled to commence on Bond 25 on 4th March, 2019, with a release date set for 14th February, 2020. Non-UK location shooting has variously been rumoured to include Africa, Canada and Norway.

002: Director Cary Fukunaga has confirmed that he wants Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris to return as ‘M’, ‘Q’ and Moneypenny.

003: Fukunaga has also revealed that French actress Lea Seydoux (who played Dr. Madeleine Swann in Spectre) will return in Bond 25, something both he and Daniel Craig wanted.

004: Academy Award-winning Swedish cinematographer Linus Sandgren has been made the main cinematographer on Bond 25.

005: Alexander Witt will return as Second Unit director on Bond 25, a role he performed on Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre.

006: Canadian screenwriter Paul Haggis has apparently revised and turned in a draft of the Bond 25 script originally written by veteran Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. Haggis, of course, worked on the scripts for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

007: Iconic car company Aston Martin, which has had a long and fruitful relationship with the Bond series since 1963, has stated that they will be involved with Bond 25.

Welcome back, Mr. Bond. We’ve been expecting you.
